Description:
I have been living with rats in the roof of my property for over 8 months. The property is a detached bungalow behind a block of flats also in ownership of my landlord. My property has been inspected by an independent pest control company on multiple occasions and have written up reports suggesting the measures that should be taken to get rid of the rodents, however I believe my landlord is not willing to take these steps. Because of this, I am constantly worried and on edge about these rodents entering my home and damaging my property, I can’t sleep at night or enjoy being inside without feeling anxious. In addition to this, in the bottom corner of my bedroom growing is black mold that has spread onto my carpet and up my walls. I have lived in this property since July 2024 and is fairly new built, surely mould should not be starting to grow already? I have suffered with severe asthma all of my life and I cannot sleep in my bedroom as this mould has worsened my asthma during the night, where I am struggling to breathe.
